Hellgate London Review - Someone Needs to Say It
There was a lot of hype surrounding this game, and plenty of people were eager to play it. Unfortunately, there was a problem: The game didn't really live up to all that hype.
This is not to say that this online game review is here to bash this new game; it wasn't that bad. The game was just somewhat ordinary. After you listen to people and media saying all kinds of great things about something, you start to think this is going to be super-awesome, or at least something you've never experienced before.
However, this game wasn't innovative, amazing, or even awesome. There were some parts you could get excited about, and it was fun. What would make the game even better is if it those parts of the game were magnified.
If you have been reading other Hellgate London reviews that say this game is best thing since sliced bread, they were probably paid to say all that. It's kind of like buttering up your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that they did something dumb, because you don't want their feelings to be hurt.
And on top of all that, the stats kept confusing me to no end. How in the world do you keep track of a dizzying number of weapons, each with its own different damage-inflicting ability? However, it is neat to see the different types of attacks that are possible.
Another point in the game's favor that should be noted in this Hellgate London review is that you can now break down items and free up inventory space. That helps make room for all that gold you want to get! Hey, it doesn't get any cooler than that. Don't forget, if it doesn't work out between you and Hellgate London, there are many other games to try.
