Conference Call Services And Its Benefits

by George H. Purdy

The purpose of Training Seminars which are used by business houses is to improve on the skills needed by their staff and managers. Some seminars help in improving the personality of the participants, while others help to improve specific areas of skill for example, Visual Programming. Hence, it is important to choose the program according to the nees of the participant.

An appropriate venue is required for a typical seminar setup where business players meet. A training instructor oversees these seminars. The instructor elaborates on the subject matter that is presented on an LCD screen. Usually the training instructor is well versed on the theme presented; however, sometimes the instructor himself is unable to handle the topic due to its complexities. For these occasions, an expert is usually present to take over the reigns and make his invaluable contributions to the presentation.

Should this resource person be physically unavailable, this is where conference calls can be used. By using the conference call services of the training organization, this experienced resource person can still participate in the seminar without being physically present. It is even possible to tap on the expertise of a number of people from different locations and even from different time zones with this communications capability.

More extreme training would include a seminar conducted to an off-site group of participants that individually contact the organization for training. At the scheduled training time, the participants will contact the organization and utilize conference call services. Other resource personnel may be invited to attend regardless of their location as long as they can connect to the conference call. A wider audience will be reached with this type of decentralized training.

By conducting such seminars, the organisation must be careful about not demeaning it. The handout material must be distributed earlier so that the participants can familiarise themselves with the task at hand. A proper followup is also essential to get required feedback from the participants for implementation in the near future.

A training organization which utilizes conference call services, is able to attract and utilize knowledge from participants not only in its immediate vicinity, but from distant locales. Aside from this obvious benefit, it enables them to tap into a pool of experienced resource persons who they would otherwise be unable to reach. This set-up could, therefore, provide a more enriching learning experience for all.

Training seminars are an important tool used by organizations to develop the important skills needed by the workforce and management teams like technical knowledge, personality and team building etc. Seminars often use LCD projectors to project the subject matter which is elaborated by the trainer. Usually the instructor is a person who has an extensive experience on the matter, but sometimes the complexity of the subject calls for the presence of an expert. Conference calls can help conduct seminars when the expert needed is physically unavailable. Conference call services of the training organization allows geographically distant experts to participate in the seminars.
